what i do and what i love
My name is Emily Ross and I am a music producer, singer/songwriter, and musician based on the Gold Coast. My discography consists of music in the genre of singer/songwriter, soft pop, and indie pop works. Releasing my first single in 2021, my track 'contracts in candlelight' tells a story of a doomed love while exploring poetic ambiguity. I often find myself yearning to write and express my thoughts and emotions in the most cathartic way possible. I spend lots of time listening to music that takes me to another world, as well as writing with my guitar and notebook in hand. Writing music that showcases my vocal and lyrical ability is what brings a smile to my face. After spending years writing music, I found myself inspired by the likes of Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner and started my music production journey. Over a few years I have honed my production and compositional abilities through consistent dedicated practice while creating music I love and am proud of.

Spending my early years in Gympie, it's a shame I didn't end up a country artist. Moving to the Gold Coast Hinterland shifted my creative perspective. Being up in the clouds surrounded by beautiful birds and nature allowed me to fully immerse myself into songwriting. Meeting an array of different people with different stories grew me as a person. I continue to grow in my creative ability the further I venture into life.
